Tuesday, July 27, 2021 Jürgen Schulz, Ambassador of Germany to Ankara, visited Tunç Soyer, Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, with his wife Sheila Stanton and Dr. Detlev Wolter, Consul of Germany in his office.

Renewable energy, waste management, and urban regeneration issues were discussed during the meeting, in which the opportunities for cooperation in the economic field were evaluated, and the guest Ambassador emphasised that they wanted to cooperate on these issues. Soyer stated that cooperation in these three areas can attract investors to the city and that they are ready to provide the necessary support.

Soyer, who also invited them to the Culture Summit to be held in İzmir on 9-11 September, said, “Culture will play a decisive role in the world of the future. We will bring together the world’s leading cultural producers, artists, and opinion leaders in İzmir and evaluate the relationship between culture and development. We will be pleased to see you among us.”
