Julien Thöni, Consul General of Switzerland Istanbul, visited Tunç Soyer, The Metropolitan Municipality Mayor of İzmir, in his office.
Stating that this is his first visit to İzmir, Julien Thöni, Consul General of Switzerland, “This is my first visit to İzmir. It is very important to visit İzmir since we want to develop the business potential and the culture here. We feel privileged to be here. We will do very significant things in terms of cultural and social. Yasemin Öztürk, The Director of Commercial Affairs Department of Consulate General of Switzerland Istanbul, said “We support Swiss companies which want to enter Turkish market by making a market search along with Turkish companies which want to do business in Switzerland.”
Expressing that it is necessary to be ready for new world order after pandemic, Tunç Soyer, The Metropolitan Municipality Mayor of İzmir, said “We need to find new channels to increase the solidarity. To be resistant is a must in the new world. We need to trust each other. This is very essential. We are ready to give any kind of support to you in İzmir. Regardless of pandemic or earthquake, companies of İzmir are afloat. I admire their tenacity. Companies of İzmir are very successful. There is a nice potential, which can be developed, between two countries. And my duty is to support it. We will get financial support from the World Bank for the transformation of the city. It is about to end up. If it gets approved, a new transformation will start in the city.”
Celal Hasan Umur, Honorary Consul of Switzerland Izmir, and Yasemin Öztürk, The Director of Commercial Affairs Department of Consulate General of Switzerland Istanbul, were found to be ready in the visit along with Mayor Tunç Soyer and Thöni.
