Visit from Mayor Soyer to immigrants |
Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer visited the International Federation of Cretans and Immigrants (UGIMFED). Mayor Soyer said, "We will protect our virtues such as peace, democracy and the Republic until our last breath." Federation President Zafer Güzelkasap said, "If you had not guided us, neither the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mübadele Choir would have been established nor we would have achieved so many firsts."
Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer visited Zafer Güzelkasap, President of the International Federation of Cretans and Immigrants (UGİMFED) and its members at their offices in Konak. Former CHP Izmir Deputy Kani Beko was also present during the visit. Speaking during the visit, Mayor Tunç Soyer said, "You are one of the stakeholders that form the character and identity of Izmir. These roots cannot be ignored. Peace is very precious. The more we work for peace, the more valuable our work will be. We will protect our virtues such as peace, democracy and the Republic until our last breath. If we do not protect these virtues, we will be lost."

Zafer Güzelkasap thanked Mayor Soyer for his contributions and said, "We have taken very fast steps in your time. The visibility of our community increased. If you had not guided us, neither the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mübadele Choir would have been established nor we would have achieved so many firsts. Your stance is very valuable for us. Our Mayor is very valuable for us."
