Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, in cooperation with the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul, is organizing Ukrainian Cinema Days on March 4-6. The movies will be screened free of charge at Kültürpark Izmir Art Center.
Ukrainian Cinema Days, organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in cooperation with the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul, starts today. Within the scope of the three-day event, films will be screened free of charge at Kültürpark Izmir Art Center. The program aims to make a cultural contribution to Ukrainian Cinema, which has gained worldwide success in recent years.
The best director of world cinema
Maryna Er Horbach's "Klondike", which will be screened as the opening film of the Ukrainian Cinema Days, won the "best director of world cinema" award at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2022.
In addition to contemporary feature films, Ukrainian Cinema Days will present Serhiy Paradzhanov's "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" as a retrospective of Ukrainian cinema classics.
