The MAST-Marine SaloonTrade Boat, the Boat Equipment and the Marine Accessories Fair, which is held for the first time this year, opened their doors in Izmir. Mayor Tunç Soyer, who spoke at the inauguration ceremony asserted that “Izmir and the country are not at the well – deserved place in the maritime industry. We need to enhance maritime trade. Let's collaborate and grow this industry together.
The MAST- Maritime Trade, the Boat, the Boat Equipment, and the Marine Accessories Fair, hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and arranged in collaboration with IZFAS and ED Fair Organization, commenced at Fair İzmir. The fair which will last until April 2, 2023 brought together in Izmir the world-renown boat brands, the industry's leading domestic boat manufacturers in the sector  and the equipment - accessory companies.
We will increase our rivalry power in the world
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, who talked at the inauguration ceremony of the fair, emphasized the significance of the fair they organised for the first time this year in the sea city of Izmir. Mayor Soyer said that “Izmir has been one of the most notable port cities of the Mediterranean basin for hundreds of years. However, it drop behind in terms of maritime and we are in a place where we don't deserve. It is possible to handle this. We call İzmir a 'sea city', a 'Mediterranean city'. We want to convey our claim in the Mediterranean. This fair was one of the most notable fairs we dreamed of. That's why we're so excited and happy. I wish to enhance our rivalry power in the world by enlarging and improving this fair every year. Bet your boots, we will do much more.”
The Invitation from Mayor Soyer
Soyer who states that İzmir and Turkey deserve more in maritime trade, concluded his speech as follows: “We need to be more competitive in maritime trade with Croatia, Spain and Greece countries . However,  we are not at this point. I think there is a lack of popular opinion. I think there is a lack of preference and expenditure. For this reason, I convoke the central authority to be as aware towards the sea as we are and local public administration. We exist. I call out to the central authority: Let's join hands and grow this assignment together. This assignment is neither ours nor yours. This is all of us. Everyone living on this land needs to comprehend the significance of this story and act their part.”
The industry is pleased with MAST İzmir Fair
The Chairman of the Izmir Chamber of Commerce, Selami Özpoyraz clarified that “İzmir is gaining new fairs recently, thanks to the synergy and vision formed by all institutions and organizations in our province. The view we see here indicates that this fair will grow swiftly and become one of our city's most hopeful and long-lasting events.
The Vice Chairman of the Board of EBSO,  Hakan Ürün said that “It is actually exciting to see together  the world-renown boat brands,  the industry's leading domestic boat manufacturers in the sector  and the equipment, accessory companies in the field of maritime  at the fair İzmir.
The Chairman of İzmir Branch of IMEAK -  Chamber of Shipping, Yusuf Öztürk said that İzmir is the cherry of the cheek of marine tourism. “I want to say that I am happy for this magnificent fair”.
We will extend the fair
The Chairman of the Board of İZSEA, Hakan Erşen told “It's a pleasure for us to see these days. In this fair, a complete team game, interdependence is displayed ”.
 
The Vice Chairman of İzmir Boat and Yacht Manufacturers' Solidarity Association (TİMDER) Fatih Yağınlı emphasized the significance of the fair for the sector. The Vice President of the Yacht and Boat Industry Association (YATED) Cem Hüroğlu told that “ they are happy to give support the fair.
One of the co founders of ED Fairs , Emel Yılmaz said that we will proceed by enlarging the fair. One of the co founders of ED Fairs , Dilek Günaydın said that “It was so big dream, thank you very much for making our Mayor Tunç Soyer's imagination come true with us. Now we are always in İzmir. It is one of our biggest dreams to enlarge our fair from now on.”
MAST İzmir turned the sector's route to İzmir
The motor yachts, sailboats, inflatable boats and boats, speedboats, outboard engine, main engines, boat equipment and accessories such as boat electronics, products such as water sports equipment, diving equipment, fishing gear are displayed in the Fair with the Supporters of Yacht and Boat Industry Association (YATED) and İzmir Boat and Yacht Manufacturers' Solidarity Association (TEKİMDER). The Motoryachts ranging in length from 3 meters to 17 meters, sailing , trawler, speedboats and cutting –edge – technology boats, equipment and accessories took their places at MAST Fair. The Visitors will be able to find the latest design boats from the local manufacturer and every product for pre-season boats, including the biggest boat brands of the world. Nearly 250 boat models debark and meet their visitors at the fair. MAST, the only fair held on land in 2023 turns the routes of participants and visitors to İzmir.
