Tunç Soyer, who is the Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, investigated the ongoing works in Kemeraltı  to revive the historical stems between Konak - Kadifekale and to enhance the attractiveness of the region. Mayor Soyer said , “We resolve the 50-year-old issue of Kemeraltı. When our works are complemented, we will construct a Kemeraltı that we will proudly invite the world to ”.
The historical investments proceed in Kemeraltı in accordance with the goal of İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer , to revive the historical stems between Konak and Kadifekale and to enhance the attractiveness of the region. In Kemeraltı, where infrastructure and superstructure are progressing together ; drain water, rain water , drinking water lines, lighting , and voltage lines are being renewed. The roads are being paved with concrete and  granite. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, who came to the city after the investigation program in the earthquake zone, investigated the works performed in the historical bazaar in the evening and offered baklava to the staff.
Soyer said,  “We resolve a 50-year-old issue”. We continue our work at night in order not to disrupt the work of the tradesmen in Kemeraltı. We resolve a 50-year-old issue. It is very hard and great work. We're altering all the infrastructure under the streets. After the infrastructure, we are covering the road surface with stones. Our Kemeraltı tradesmen are experiencing difficulties in this process. The Citizens, of course, have problems while shopping. However , if we do not take this great step, it is not possible for Kemeraltı to reach the beautiful days we dream of.”
“Kemeraltı, which we hope to become a world brand, will be born”
Mayor Soyer , who states they aim to make Kemeraltı a world brand, told  “Unfortunately ;  we have to pay for our mistakes , to move Kemeraltı to the beautiful point we dreamed of. However, then a beautiful Kemeraltı will be born. Kemeraltı, which we dreamed of and hoped to become a world brand, will be born. A Kemeraltı will be born, which lives with its illumination at night and comes to life not only with its tradesmen but also with its night trade. And we will construct a Kemeraltı that we will proudly invite the world. We go on our work with this enthusiasm. We ask forgiveness from our Kemeraltı tradesmen and our citizens who came to visit the bazaar for all the troubles we caused. But without any doubt, we will construct a Kemeraltı that will grow their bread and enable them to serve with a much more smiling face.
What was done within the context of Kemeraltı regulation works ?
The sewer channel line, the rain water line,  the drinking water line ,the telecom line, the lighting line, the electrical infrastructure lines, and the  road body coatings have been completed at Dr. Faik Muhittin Adam Street (850 Street), 852, 866, 865 and Veysel Blind Alley. The Concrete paved streets will soon be covered with flat granite stone. The Concrete at Dr. Faik Muhittin Adam Street was complemented and granite stone was laid.
 
The works of infrastructure were complemented on the 847, 847/1 streets. The floor will be concreted. The works of infrastructure  go on 846, 873, 871, 916, 917, 918, 442, 851, 849,897 streets. An area of ​​ten thousand square meters has been excavated so far; the stone pavement has been completed in an area of ​​3 thousand 220 square meters. All infrastructure lines will be renewed step by step , and granite stone pavement will be made in accordance with the historical heritage, within the context of Kemeraltı arrangement works. The 1st and 2nd stages of Kemeraltı will be completed by the end of the year.
Reward for the lighting project
The lighting project of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Kemeraltı deemed to deserve the first prize in the "Cities and Lighting Competition" organized by the International City Lighting  Association. The works of Lighting proceed in Kemeraltı.
The work continues for the UNESCO World Heritage 2023 candidacy of the Historic Port City of İzmir, which also includes Kemeraltı.
