The adventure, which commenced with a sack of seeds in Gödence village of Seferihisar, has spread to 12 thousand decares of land today. One of the first aims of our Mayor Tunç Soyer, after he assigned as the Metropolitan Mayor, was to carry out the vision of ‘ Another Agriculture is Possible’. Supporting and disseminating local animal breeds and local seeds were among the most crucial purposes of the project. As in meat and dairy products, we signed a purchase guarantee contract for karakılcık wheat and provided free seed support to producers through IZTARIM. The contract signed with producers who received seed support and The 'double price' policy started to be implemented for the dissemination of the project. Accordingly, we promised to give our Karakılcık wheat producers twice the price announced by Turkish Grain Board. In 2022, we planted 80 tons of karakılcık wheat and rye seeds on 4,000 acres of land, and we provided support of approximately 4 million TL to our farmers. In the 2022 harvest, we obtained 350 tons of product. With some of these seeds, we distributed the karakılcık seeds for the 2023 production season to be planted on approximately 12 thousand acres.
