The Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality; Tunç Soyer hosted Thierry Hoppe and his accompanying delegation that is the Danish Consul General in Istanbul.
During the visitation, where energy systems and energy efficiency came to the fore, President Tunç Soyer said : “We are quite enthusiastic about the use of renewable resources. Our basic purpose is to construct resilient cities for the climate crisis.
The Danish global energy firms visited Izmir as part of the Danish Embassy's Regional Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency seminar. They got together with Thierry Hoppe, the Consul General of Denmark in Istanbul, and Tunç Soyer, the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
Soyer: “We are searching for new roads and vehicles”
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Mayor Tunç Soyer mentioned that “As İzmir, we are plumed on to have sunshine 300 days a year. We are searching for new roads, new vehicles and new canals to utilize this energy more effectively and efficiently. This is our essential idea, because the climate crisis give rise us to seek new resolutions. So, We are quite enthusiastic about the use of renewable resources. Our basic purpose is to construct resilient cities for the climate crisis.”
 
 
“We can find the new routemaps”
Mayor Tunç Soyer, who states that they are open to cooperation, said that “We should take more steps to convert the potential energy into kinetic energy. We are pleased to welcome you here on this issue and thank you. Hopefully, we can find new projects, new routemaps today”.
Hoppe: “We see how resolute you are”
The Consul General of Denmark in Istanbul, Thierry Hoppe said that “We see how resoluted you are. I understand that we have something in common. We are the first consulate in Istanbul to use electric vehicles. The Regional energy is a future-oriented technological and adaptable issue to various energy sources. As you said, it can make up new job opportunities, not just for the climate crisis.”
Türkoğlu: “We want to ensure  convenience”
The Chairman of the Board of IZENERGY, Ali Ercan Türkoğlu told that “This event has been delayed twice but we've kept in touch for over a year.  We made technical visitations to Denmark and various organizations. We invited them to Izmir. As a municipality ; we want to enable convenience in the process of decision-making and taking action in their investments.
Öztunç: “Geothermal is a great opportunity for İzmir”
The Danish Embassy and the Danish Energy Agency, the Energy Attaché Emrah Öztunç explained that “Geothermal is a great opportunity for İzmir. We want to work on both heating and cooling technology in Turkey. We are also working on energy modeling and data collection. Denmark is a developed country in the efficient use of energy and we want to bring that here too. We have the same apprehension about the climate crisis.
