42nd Hülya-Özdemir Nutku International Izmir Theater Festival begins

Hülya-Özdemir Nutku International Izmir Theater Festival, organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for the 42nd time this year, starts on Wednesday, March 13. Lasting until March 27, World Theater Day, the festival will bring together local and national theater groups as well as theater groups from Germany, Greece, Lebanon and Serbia.
 
The International Izmir Theater Festival (42nd International Izmir Theater Days), organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality under the name of "Hülya-Özdemir Nutku" since 2022, will be held between March 13 and 27. In addition to children's plays, local plays and national plays, international plays with theater teams from Germany, Greece, Lebanon and Serbia will meet with Izmir residents in many districts.
 
Opening play from Serbia
The festival will start with the play "Threshold" written by Hasan Erkek, which will be staged by Serbia's Novi Pazar Regional Theater at IZBBŞT İsmet İnönü Stage at 20.30 on Wednesday, March 13. MUT! Theater from Germany, Theatre In Progress from Lebanon and Sebun Quartet from Greece will take place on Izmir stages with their valuable plays in the following days of the festival.
 
The play "Pripyat" will premiere at the festival
As in previous years, the first screening of a play will be held at this festival again this year. On Monday, March 18 at 20.30, 10 ART Mekan, one of the local theater teams, will meet the audience for the first time at Izmir Sanat with its play "Pripyat".
 
Twelve local theater performances
Twelve valuable theater teams from Istanbul, Eskişehir and Hatay will add color to the festival with twelve plays, 6 for adults and 6 for children, including one premiere play.

Audiences who want to watch the plays that will be shown for a fee at the festival will be able to access their tickets from https://kultursanat.izmir.bel.tr web page, detailed information from İZBB Culture and Arts social media account and İzmir Art website. Free plays in the festival require an invitation and reservation.
