The 2nd International Literature-Cinema Gathering includes films adapted from works of literature, as well as biographical fiction or documentaries about the lives of writers. The program includes four films from France, two classics and two made in recent years ("The King and the Bird" and "Zazie Metroda" to be screened on April 23rd, as well as "The Swallows of Cain" and "Extinguished Dreams"), There are three 2023 films from Germany ("Ingeborg Bachmann - Journey to the Desert" and "Elfriede Jelinek - Saving the Language from Captivity", "Red Sky"), two 2023 films from Italy ("Commandante" and "Lubo") and eight local productions.

Films adapted from the works of writers at this festival
Within the scope of the Literature-Cinema Meeting, in order to commemorate two great writers, Füruzan and Yılmaz Karakoyunlu, who passed away last month, films adapted from the works of the two writers will be screened, as well as films on the masters of our literature Nazım Hikmet, Sabahattin Ali, Yaşar Kemal, and the film "A Season in Hakkari", adapted by Onat Kutlar from Ferit Edgü's novel "O" and directed by Erden Kıral. The film, which won the Silver Bear award at the Berlin Festival, was restored last year by the Kadıköy Municipality Cinematheque/Cinema House. Two fictions on Nazım Hikmet, Biket İlhan's "Mavi Gözlü Dev" (The Giant with Blue Eyes) and Cengiz Özkarabekir's Ahmet Ümit adaptation "Merhaba Güzel Vatanım" (Hello My Beautiful Homeland), as well as "Ulyses'i Çevirmek" (Translating Ulyses), one of the most important documentaries of 2023, are among the eight local productions to be screened at the festival.
