Tuesday, November 4, 2025 Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay hosted Mustafa Davulcu, the newly appointed Consul General of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), at his office on 4 November 2025. During the visit, the parties discussed ways to enhance cooperation between İzmir and municipalities in the TRNC. Emphasizing that the TRNC has a special place for İzmir, Mayor Tugay stated that as İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, we are ready to provide all kinds of support to all cities and municipalities in TRNC. Consul General Davulcu, in turn, expressed their wish to benefit from Türkiye's municipal experience and thanked Mayor Tugay for his support.
