İzmir Metropolitan Municipality has joined the Berlin Urban Nature Pact initiative to strengthen international cooperation in nature-based solutions, urban ecology, and climate change adaptation. Signed by Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay, the pact officially includes İzmir in a global network of cities committed to nature-positive and sustainable urban development.

At the annual meeting held in Berlin, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality shared its urban vision based on the One Health approach, which addresses human, animal, and environmental health in an integrated manner. The program featured exchanges on best practices in biodiversity, climate adaptation, and urban ecology, while İzmir’s Rewilding Project was also discussed with international participants. Within the framework of the pact, İzmir will continue to develop nature-based and resilient urban policies.
