Saturday, April 20, 2024 Organized by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality for the fifth time this year, Marathonİzmir Avek starts on Sunday, April 21. Having won the title of "Fastest Marathon in Türkiye" in 2020 with 2:09:35, Marathonİzmir Avek, which announced its new record with 2:09:27 in 2021, is distinguished from all its competitors thanks to the fact that almost all of it is run at sea level. The Marathon İzmir course, whose highest point is 17 meters, ranks among the most enjoyable marathons with this feature.
Organized by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality for the fifth time this year, Marathonİzmir will run tomorrow. With the name sponsorship of Avek Otomoiv, Sidrex, İzmirli and Kula Natural Mineral Water supply sponsorship, the giant organization has risen to a very important position in Turkey in terms of social responsibility. 42-kilometer run starts at 8am
Türkiye's fastest marathon, which has been awarded the Road Race Label (International Road Running Certificate) by the World Athletics Federation, will start at 08.00 in front of the old IZFAŞ Headquarters building on Şair Eşref Boulevard. Athletes will reach Karşıyaka via Alsancak in the 42-kilometer race and return before reaching Bostanlı Pier. The athletes will take the same course, this time via Mustafa Kemal Coastal Boulevard to İnciraltı, and will return from Marina İzmir to complete the race at the starting point.  A total of 600 athletes from 38 different countries will compete in the race.
5 thousand runners in 10 kilometers
The start of the 10-kilometer race within the scope of Marathonİzmir Avek will be given at 07.00 on the same day and from the same point. The athletes will complete the race on the opposite lane of the old İZFAŞ building in Fuar Kültürpark by turning at the Köprü Tram stop on Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard. 5,000 athletes will start at 10 kilometers.
