Monday, April 22, 2024 Rotary International 2023-2024 President Gordon R. Mclnally and International District 2440 Federation President Ayda Özeren and the accompanying delegation paid an auspicious visit to İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay.   At the meeting where cooperation was discussed, Mayor Cemil Tugay said, "We can implement many of the projects you want to implement here. I am ready to do whatever I can.”
Rotary International President for 2023-2024 Gordon R. Mclnally and his wife Heather McInally, International District 2440 Federation President Ayda Özeren, Former Rotary 2440 Federation President Esat Kardıçalı and his wife İclal Kardıçalı paid a visit to Mayor Tugay.   During the visit, which was accompanied by Ertuğrul Tugay, Deputy Secretary General of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and Anıl Kaçar, Head of Social Projects Department of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, issues regarding the continuation of the Golden Needle Project and the Entrepreneurial Women Project (GIKA), which are carried out in cooperation with İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and Rotary Clubs, were discussed.  
Tugay promises cooperation
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay thanked the delegation for the visit and said, "We have supported and cooperated with each other when I was the Mayor of Karşıyaka and before.  I would like to put forward my intention for the continuation and development of existing collaborations in the following process. We are always here for good things. We can implement many of the projects you want to implement here. I am ready to do whatever I can.”
Mclnally: “Women need to be empowered.
Gordon R. Mclnally, President of Rotary International 2023-2024, said: "In fact, women need to be empowered and employment needs to be created. With the empowerment of women, society is also strengthened. We attach great importance to this. We will give all the support we can in this regard.”
Özeren: “Our priorities are always women and girls”
Stating that they have carried out many projects to increase women's employment, Ayda Özeren, President of the International 2440th Region Federation, said: "Thank you very much for accepting us here today in terms of the continuity of the projects.  This meeting is also very valuable in terms of showing our sustainable relationships. Our priorities are always women and girls' education. We do a lot of work together for women and children in the field of social municipality. We have no doubt that these projects will continue with you."
