İzmir’s Fight Against the Climate Crisis on the International Stage

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality’s transportation-focused project “Shift2Sustain: Encouraging Behavior Change in Mobility Towards Sustainability” has been granted funding support from the European Commission under the Horizon Europe program on August 16, 2025.
The project aims to promote the transition to low- and zero-emission transport modes, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and noise pollution, and improve urban quality of life. Alongside İzmir, pilot cities include Copenhagen, Sarajevo, Turin, Zagreb, Gdansk, and Oeiras.
