İzmir Hosts International Autism Symposium

The 1st International Autism Symposium, bringing together individuals with autism and their families alongside representatives from academia, civil society, and public institutions, will be held in İzmir on 12–13 May. The event, to be organized at the Historic Gasworks Factory, will focus on scientific studies, examples of best practices, and inclusive urban policies.

Organized by the Directorate of Disability Studies of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, the symposium will take place between 09.30 and 16.30 on 12–13 May at the Historic Gasworks Factory. By bringing together different stakeholders on a common platform, the symposium aims to promote an inclusive vision for İzmir that supports the full and equal participation of individuals with autism and their families in urban life. It is also intended that the knowledge generated during the symposium will be transformed into concrete service models and urban policies.
