The sustainability-driven tourism initiatives of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality have been crowned with international recognition. At the 2024 Green Destinations Top 100 Stories Awards, İzmir received awards with three different destinations.
Efes Tarlası Life Village in Selçuk, Gastro Farm Urla in Urla, and the Turuncu Eller Agricultural Development Cooperative in Menderes were included in the Top 100 Stories list for their environmentally responsible practices that support local production and community development. The awards were presented during a ceremony held as part of the Green Destinations International Conference.
With this achievement, İzmir has been featured with five different stories in the Green Destinations Top 100 list over the past three years, further strengthening its international visibility in sustainable tourism and continuing to promote a tourism approach centered on nature, culture, and local values on the global stage.
