The club’s athletes achieved notable success at the 13th International Türkiye Open Taekwondo Tournament, securing two silver and one bronze medal. Held at Antalya Sports Hall with the participation of 2,552 athletes from 67 countries, the competition featured İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club athlete Kaan Yelaldı competing in the 54 kg category. In the Senior Men’s division, Yelaldı faced 342 athletes from 48 countries. He advanced to the semifinals after defeating his Tunisian opponent in the first round, a Kazakh opponent in the second round, and a Turkish opponent in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, he defeated Uzbekistan’s Jakhongir Khudayberdiev to reach the final. In the gold medal match, however, he was defeated by Marufjonov Dilmurodjon and completed the tournament with a silver medal.
In the junior girls’ category, Selin Pamuk won a silver medal among 221 athletes from 14 countries, while in the cadet boys’ category, Kuzey Ata Takmaz earned a bronze medal among 227 athletes from 10 countries.
