An important part of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality’s vision for sports, the International 9 September İzmir Half Marathon has grown beyond a sporting event to become a strong brand promoting the city’s history, culture and active lifestyle. Now in its 14th edition, the race will once again be organized in accordance with the competition rules of the Turkish Athletics Federation and World Athletics, bringing elite athletes and amateur runners together in the same spirit of competition.
During the race, that will bring participants together aged 16 and over, the runners will compete for top honors as they pass through iconic landmarks of the city, enjoying the unique scenery of İzmir Gulf, and celebrating the joy of liberation through sport.
