The Ambassador of Peru to Türkiye, Luz Betty Caballero Morales, and her accompanying delegation visited İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. During the visit, hosted by Deputy Mayor Dr. Zafer Levent Yıldır, the parties exchanged views on strengthening relations between Peru and İzmir.

The Ambassador of Peru to Türkiye, Luz Betty Caballero Morales, travelled to İzmir for a series of meetings concerning the Latin American Culture, Sports and Friendship Festival planned to be held in the city. As part of her programme, Ambassador Morales and her accompanying delegation visited İzmir Metropolitan Municipality. Hosting the delegation, Deputy Mayor Dr. Zafer Levent Yıldır stated that the Municipality was ready to develop partnerships aimed at strengthening relations with Peru and increasing the number of visitors to İzmir. He added that they were also prepared to establish contact with Peruvian cities interested in forming a sister-city relationship with İzmir.

Yıldır: “We will have the opportunity to build much closer ties”
Dr. Zafer Levent Yıldır said: “We currently have no sister city in Peru, and we would be pleased to contribute to efforts in this area. İzmir and Peru have much in common. I hope that our exchanges will become much more frequent from now on and that many more people will travel from Peru to İzmir and from İzmir to Peru. This would give us the opportunity to build much closer ties.”

Morales: Discussions are underway on direct flights
Ambassador Morales, expressed her great pleasure at being in İzmir. She stated that they had held various discussions on establishing direct flights between İzmir and Peru, adding that shorter travel times would help increase the number of visitors to İzmir. The Ambassador also affirmed Peru’s readiness to establish sister-city relations.
