Öznur Tugay, spouse of the Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, Dr. Cemil Tugay, said at the March 8 International Women's Day event "May the days come when women are not subjected to violence, not torn away from life, and International Women’s Day is celebrated only for joy, let’s achieve this change together through unity and strength."
Öznur Tugay, spouse of the Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, Dr. Cemil Tugay, attended the March 8 International Women’s Day event organized by İzmir Azerbaijan Association (İZAZDER). The event was hosted by Terlan Akçay, President of İZAZDER Women’s Committee. Tugay said, “It is very meaningful to be together on this special day. I hope that women will not be torn away from life, will not suffer psychological or physical violence, and that Women’s Day will become a day celebrated only with joy. Let’s achieve this change together through unity and strength.” Akçay congratulated all women on Women’s Day and presented Öznur Tugay with a traditional Azerbaijani shawl, while Tugay gifted Akçay an evil eye amulet.
