BizIzmir Solidarity Points, established by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer to increase solidarity in the city, raises its standards with international common sense activities. With Bizİzmir Solidarity Points, which support citizens at points of need, from daily hot meals to psychosocial support, from literacy courses to oral and dental care; Izmir Metropolitan Municipality attended the mid-term workshop in Kuşadası within the scope of the CIPSS (Inclusive, Sustainable, Resilient Innovation and Co-Design of Public Spaces and Public Services) program implemented in cooperation with Lund University in Sweden and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. At the workshop with 23 participants from Turkey and North Macedonia, the change projects of the country teams were presented, feedback was received and experiences were shared. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Şişli Municipality and Kuşadası Municipality from Turkey took part in the program.
It will be a turning point in the fight against poverty
The program, which will be a turning point in the effective fight against poverty and deprivation, focuses on municipal services and public spaces regarding the rights of people with functional diversity, the elderly, women and children. The success achieved with the on-site service model of Bizİzmir Solidarity Points will also form the basis for the establishment of similar support networks. Through the program, contribution will be made to the sustainability goal of making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. Network of professionals from different municipalities facing similar challenges will increase collaboration and sharing of best practices.
