Mediterranean: The Cradle of Democracy will be discussed in an international panel

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will host the panel "Mediterranean: The Cradle of Democracy". On February 15 at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Centre, experts from France, Spain and Greece will discuss the historical events, political and social changes and the evolution of democracy in the Mediterranean region. 
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Directorate of City Archives, Museums and Libraries will organize the panel "Mediterranean: The Cradle of Democracy" on February 15 at 16.00 at Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Centre (AASSM). The speakers of the international panel will be Prof. Dr. Eyüp Özveren (Orta Doğu Technical University), Prof. Dr. Antonis Liakos (University of Athens-Greece), Dr. Emmanuel Rodriguez Lopez (Author-Spain) and Vincent Benedetto (University of Rouen-IFEA-France). The panel will be moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selin Önen from Izmir Kâtip Çelebi University.   
 
Over 100 years of democratization process will be discussed
In the panel "Mediterranean: The Cradle of Democracy", democratization processes in Greece, Spain, France and Türkiye from past to present and the effects of this process on the Mediterranean and the world will be discussed. The panel "Mediterranean: The Cradle of Democracy" will focus on the events, political and social changes and the evolution of democracy in the Mediterranean geography in the historical process, and the democratization process of the Republic over 100 years will be discussed in a broad framework. Foreign speakers will make their presentations in English and simultaneous translation system will be available in the hall.
