Hanri Benazus was sent off on his last journey |
Hanri Benazus, known for the books he wrote about Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his collection of thousands of photographs of Atatürk, was sent off on his last journey today. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer and his wife Neptün Soyer also attended the funeral ceremony.
Hanri Benazus, known for the books he wrote about Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his collection of thousands of photographs of Atatürk, passed away at the age of 94. A ceremony was held for Hanri Benazus at the Altındağ Jewish Cemetery. Benazus' daughters Fortune Hayim and Keti Sigura, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer and his wife Neptün Soyer, representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations and many loved ones attended the ceremony. After the ceremony, Benazus was buried accompanied by hymns. Expressing his condolences to the family of Hanri Benazus, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer said, “He was a person who loved Atatürk. It is a great loss for Izmir. We are so sorry. "We will keep his name alive," he said.
