The decision tracking system of the Second Economic Congress of the Century, which was held at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center (AASSM) on March 15-21, 2023, under the leadership of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and attracted great interest, has been launched. Stakeholders and experts will be able to follow and update the decisions taken at the congress on the declarations.iktisatkongresi.org website through the system created by the İzmir Planning Agency (İZPA).
Stakeholders and experts will follow up on decisions
In the system, the agenda items decided upon by the three main stakeholders of the congress - farmers, workers, industrialists, traders and tradesmen - will be regularly monitored by the institutions and experts contributing to the congress. Stakeholders and experts will contribute to the monitoring of congress resolutions by entering legal amendments, application examples, international developments related to the decisions and their recommendations into the decision tracking system.

The preamble of the final declaration, which was voted and adopted one by one by the three main stakeholders of the Second Economic Congress of the Second Century, consists of 4 chapters and 92 decisions. There are 16 principles and 51 decisions in the workers' declaration, 18 principles and 62 decisions in the farmers' declaration and 27 principles and 98 decisions in the declaration of industrialists, merchants and tradesmen.
The secretariat of the system will enable the stakeholders of the Second Economic Congress of the Second Century to follow the decisions of the congress will be handled by İZPA.
Developments in the decisions taken will be published by the İzmir Planning Agency (IZPA) as the Economic Congress Development Report in March 2024 and presented to the public.
The Congress brought together hundreds of experts
Since August 2022, a total of nine stakeholder meetings were held with farmers, workers and industrialists, traders and artisans. More than 150 experts contributed to the decisions taken at the stakeholder meetings in four expert meetings, titled We Appreciate Each Other, We Return to Our Nature, We Understand Our Past and We See the Future.
What was discussed in stakeholder and expert meetings was evaluated in 3 different high advisory board meetings. In addition to the Youth Forum and Women's Forum, Workshops on Children, Street Economics and Education were also organized as part of the preparations for the Congress. The outputs of all these efforts shaped the final declaration.
After eight months of intensive preparation, the final declaration, in which the outputs of all the work were collected, was presented to the votes of the delegates. Of the 211 items in the final declaration, 27 were adopted with annotations, while the rest were unanimous.
