China opened the doors of her second General Consulate |
People's Republic of China opened the doors of her second general consulate in Izmir which is known to have two "sister cities" in the People's Republic of China.
The 66th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the opening of the Izmir General Consulate of the People's Republic of China were bought celebrated with a reception held. Izmir Governor Mustafa Toprak, Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Aziz Kocaoglu, Presidential Chief Advisor Binali Yildirim, Ankara Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Yu Hongyang and the first Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Izmir by the name of Su Gaochao and many guests attended the night reception.
Izmir Mayor Aziz Kocaoglu making a speech during the ceremony, said the friendly relations between two countries would further strengthened with the opening of the General Consulate. Izmir Mayor Aziz Kocaoglu emphasized that Chinese investors selected Izmir as one of the "Best Foreign Cities that can be invested in". Izmir Mayor Aziz Kocaoglu who told that the relations between two countries has reached a significant depth by Wuhan being the second "sister city" of Izmir after Tianjin, added "Now the next city is Xiamen. That Xiamen to be sister city will make Izmir, the city with most sister cities in the People's Republic of China.
Mayor Aziz Kocaoglu said: "Railway cars for Izmir Metro are being produced in China. The first batch of a total of 95 new railway cars will be in Izmir one year later. We are sure that the number of Chinese companies which we know to be nearly 20 for today will increase in the future. Because Izmir is completely a "city of pastures new" with its dynamic structure, developing economy, qualified workforce and geographic advantages. I think that the Izmir Fair will create significant opportunities for Chinese investors and entrepreneurs.
Presidential Chief Advisor Binali Yildirim emphasized the importance of the opening of General Consulate of China in Izmir and said: "I thank to the People's republic of China for their decision."
Izmir Governor Mustafa Toprak told during his speech that he believes the relations between two countries will furtherly develop with the superior efforts of the new Izmir Chinese Consul General of the People's Republic of China Su Gaochao.
Ankara Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Yu Hongyang stated that Turkey-China cooperation has a bright future and a great potential and said that the opening of General Consulate in Izmir will strengthen these relations. Yu Hongyang told that Izmir, the third biggest city of Turkey, with its peaceful society, developed economy, long history and beautiful scenery has been increasing her communication and cooperation with different regions of China in commercial, economic and cultural fields for long years. He said: "The official opening the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China has a great importance for bilateral relations."
Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Su Gaochao expressed his pleasure to serve his duty in Izmir and said: "The bilateral relations have been strengthening continuously for 44 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and Turkey. The new duty region of our General Consulate is Izmir, Aydin, Mugla, Isparta, Burdur, Denizli, Usak and Antalya. The opening of the Izmir General Consulate is in the nature of a new fruit born as the result of China-Turkey friendship. This event has opened a new page in bilateral relations."
