The Winner of the Cartoon Contest is Azerbaijan |
Gender Mainstreaming International Cartoon Contest organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to raise awareness about gender equality has ended. Seyran Caferli from Azerbaijan won the first prize in the contest, in which 549 cartoonists from 62 countries participated with 1.672 works.
In the contest organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which has accomplished important works with the title of "woman-friendly city”,Seyran Caferli from Azerbaijan received first prize, Ernst Mattiello from Switzerland received the second prize while Halit Kurtulmuş Aytoslu from Turkey received the third prize. Honorable mention awards was given to Luc Vernimmen from Belgium, Abdul Arif from Indonesia and Galym Boranbayev from Kazakhstan.
The works will also be opened to visitors at Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center and Bıçakçı Han within the scope of March 8 events and will be collected in an album.
