The relationship between Nea Smirni and Izmir will be strengthened |
Strengthening the relations between the city of Izmir and Nea Smirni, the city founded by immigrants from Izmir in Greece during the 1922 population exchange was discussed, and an idea of organizing joint sport organizations came to the fore.
Alkistis Protopsalti will be in Izmir in May
At the meeting, Argyro Papoulia, Consul General of Greece in Izmir, expressed his gratitude about the concert of singer Alkistis Protopsalti, accompanied by the Izmir Region State Symphony Orchestra to be held on May 2020 in Ahmed Adnan Saygun Arts Center in Izmir. Stavros Tzoulakis, Mayor of Nea Smirni, emphasized on democracy culture in İzmir and said that İzmir is the city of open minded people.
The Greek delegation invited Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer to Thessaloniki between the dates of 9 -11 April. Reminding that the 89th Izmir International Fair, to take place between the dates of 4- 13 September this year, will be held with the Mediterranean theme, Tunç Soyer said he would be pleased to see Nea Smirni city at the fair.
