Applications to the international photo contest open to participants from 36 countries within the scope of the EU project RURITAGE. Photographers from Turkey will participate with photographs of the project sites of Bergama, Kınık and Dikili. Deadline for applications is October 31^st.

“RURITAGE-Rural regeneration through systemic strategies” program aiming to transform rural areas within the scope of European Union HORIZON 2020, which İzmir Metropolitan Municipality participated with Bakırçay Basin, continues with photography contest.
Photographs to participate the project are expected to both reflect the uniqueness of the rural areas and to underline the unique beauty of both natural and cultural heritage.

RURITAGE Project consists of 6 executing cities, 13 role model cities and 17 rural areas expecting to accentuate main themes of “Resilience”, Local Food”, “Art and Festivals”, “Landscape”, “Pilgrimage” and “Migration”. İzmir is among the executive cities under the main theme of “Landscape”. İzmir leg of the project is run by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality with cooperation of İzmir High Technology Institute and Demir Enerji Consultancy Company.
Owner of the winning photograph will be invited to final sitting of the project to be held in Paris in 2022. Photographs worthy of being displayed will be exhibited in the exhibition in UNESCO Headquarters and will be published in websites of project partners, mainly UNESCO, ICLEI Europe and Bologna University.
