​IIF will be held between September 4th and 8th with concept of Mediterranean

Upon consulting with Ministry of Commerce, Governorship of İzmir and Science Board, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality rescheduled the opening date of 89th İzmir International Fair (IIF)
Considering the possible crown due to coinciding of the opening of the fair on September 9th, the anniversary of liberation of İzmir, it has been decided to hold the Fair on September 4th-8th instead of September 9TH-13TH. Fair will be held by İZFAŞ, hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and patronage of Ministry of Commerce. Being the first fair to open after the global pandemic, IIF will be completed under severe pandemic measures.

Visitors of the Fair will enter from Lozan (Lausanne) and Basmane gates starting September 4th. Temperatures of the visitors will be taken in entrance gates and masks and disinfectants specifically designed for the fair will be handed out. Visitors will be admitted in accordance with person per meter square standards in a controlled fashion. Visitors will be required to wear masks and observe social distancing in Kültürpark. Warning signs will be erected in Kültürpark for this purpose.  August 26th, and Montrö (Montreux) gates will be used for exits.

Fair will take 5 days this year, instead of 10, due to pandemic measures
Entrance will cost TRY 5. IIF will be held with theme of Mediterranean this year. It will maintain the warmth of Mediterranean culture in Kültürpark for 5 days. Born of Mediterranean flavours, melodies and vibrant cultures, Fair will contribute to coalescence of the region.
 
International Business Days will be online
Sixth İzmir Business days within the scope of the IIF will be held online on September 3rd and 4th.

 6th İzmir Business Days will be organized with cooperation of T.R. Ministry of Commerce, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, İZFAŞ, İzmir Chamber of Commerce (İZTO), Aegean Region Chamber of Commerce (EBSO), İzmir Commodity Exchange (ITB), Chamber of Shipping İzmir Branch (IMEAK) and Aegean Exporters Assembly (EIB)
In the meetings between representatives of sectors such as textile, marine logistics and e-commerce and attended by ministers will bring trade opportunities after the pandemic to the table.

Hosting expert speakers and organization leaders, meetings will last for two days and on September 4th, T.R. Minister of Commerce, Ruhsar PEkcan will meet the chairpersons of non-governmental organizations of İzmir and will evaluate the strategic importance of İzmir in commerce of Turkey.

Cultural Activities
Concerts and plays will be exhibited in Atatürk Open air Theatre and Mediterranean Movies  will take place in outdoors areas, all observing social distancing rules.
Stands erected starting from Lozan Gate, in accordance with outdoors fair rules will be limited in numbers. With diverse stands including municipalities, education, food, souvenirs, regular announcements will be made to prevent crowding in the fair. Host, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality will also have a stand to inform the guest of its services
Music concerts, child oriented activities, and other activities will be held through in different areas of Kültürpark during IIF. Street stages will host local bands of İzmir. Gaming entrepreneurship contest held for the first time this year with support of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, within the scope of  INTEL ESL Gaming Fest will announce the winners of Next Game Startup in IIF. Award ceremony will be held on September 5th, Saturday on İsmet İnönü Culture Centre

Starting its journey with İzmir Economics Congress of February 17th, 1923, İzmir International Fair has continued ceaselessly regardless of economic problems or wars. Only in 1942, there was no international participation due to World War 2. People of İzmir held activities called “Kültürpark Entertainment” in its stead.
