The Member of ESHOT General Directorate and İzmir Metro INC. , The Secretary General of the International Union of Public Transporters (UITP), Muhammed Mezghani also visited Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer in İzmir, where he came for a series of contacts. To the meeting ; the Assistant Secretary General of UITP, Kaan Yıldızgöz ; the President of UITP Eurasia, Feyzullah Gündoğdu ; the director – general Mr.Erhan ; the general manager assistants , Kader Sertpoyraz and Sevcan Tınaztepe attended.
At the meeting, the impacts of the changing balances after the pandemic on cities and public transportation were commentated. The opinions were expressed on ESHOT's efforts, which included investments in Turkey's first electric bus and solar power plant, as well as strategies for the development of public transportation services. It was mentioned that 25 experts from across the world would visit ESHOT between May 9-11 ; in addition to technical visits, it was noted that there will be a mutual exchange of information about the usage and technologies of electric buses.
Soyer : Our investments proceed
Mayor Soyer, who expresses his satisfaction with the visitation, emphasized that investmenst of public transportation are a precedence in İzmir. Mayor Soyer stated that they aim to enhance rail systems, electric buses, usage of bicycle and seaway. Also , he explained that investments and studies continue in this direction. Mezghani who pointed out the significance of the long-standing collaboration between İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and UITP , thanked Mayor Soyer for his leadership in the development of public transportation services. Mezghani invited Mayor Soyer to the inauguration ceremony of the Global Public Transport Summit, which will be held in Barcelona this year from June 4-7 with the theme "the Bright Light of the City".
