The “Hope Movement” launched from Izmir became the bridge of hope

Humanitarian aid materials have been shipped with 162 trucks, 124 trucks, 3 planes, 3 ships, 5 buses with the aid corridor established by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to the disaster zone so far. The donation figure reached with the ”Hope Movement“ and ”One Rent One Home" campaigns has approached 66 million liras. Mayor Tunç Soyer, who said that the “Hope Movement” launched in Izmir is the bridge of hope, said, “Dear People of Izmir, the need continues in the region. We will heal the wounds with our hands together,”he said.
 
The solidarity initiated by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for the disaster zone after the earthquakes affecting 10 provinces is growing every day. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which has established disaster coordination centers in Hatay, Osmaniye, Adiyaman and Kahramanmaraş, continues to heal the wounds of the earthquake in the field with all its units. In the first 12 days of the earthquake, 162 trucks, 124 trucks, 3 planes, 3 ships, 5 buses delivered humanitarian aid materials to the devastated provinces. The donation figure reached with the ”Hope Movement“ and ”One Rent One Home" campaigns has approached 66 million liras.
Soyer: "The need for the region continues”
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, who said that the solidarity campaign “Movement of Hope” launched in Izmir is the bridge of hope, said, “Yesterday (February 17) 3 trucks, 1 pickup truck and 1 bus cargo left for Adiyaman, Hatay, Osmaniye and Diyarbakır”. Reiterating his call to citizens, Mayor Tunç Soyer said, “Dear People of Izmir, the need continues in the region. Every aid you bring to the aid centers in Fair Izmir, Kültürpark Celal Atik Gym and APIKAM is sorted, stored and shipped to the points where it is really needed. He can bring all kinds of humanitarian aid materials here, especially dry food, new underwear, diapers, sanitary pads, or ‘umuthareketi.izmir.bel.tr ’ you can easily get help from home and abroad from the site. We will heal the wounds with our hands together,"he said.

515 thousand 751 blankets, one thousand 324 tents, 46 containers, toilets and showers, 232 portable toilets, 67 generators, 10 thousand 143 stoves and heaters, 7 thousand 700 blankets, 855 thousand 263 pieces of clothing, 20 thousand 340 hygiene packages, 16 thousand 91 packages of sanitary pads, 26 thousand 443 food packages, 33 thousand 798 diapers and formula, 677 thousand liters of drinking water, 182 tons of fuel, 5 and a half tons of fruit, 35 thousand 519 liters of milk and tons of humanitarian aid materials were sent. The implementation of the milk distribution application carried out in Izmir for children within the scope of the Milk Lamb project in the region has created satisfaction.
Donations approached 66 million liras
Providing for the purchase of humanitarian aid materials needed by earthquake victims “umuthareketi.izmir.bel.tr ” 48 million 41 thousand 833 liras of aid was made to be delivered to the region from the address. Bringing together citizens who lost their homes in the earthquake and people who want to provide rental support or open their empty house for use “birkirabiryuva.org "with this, a contribution of 17 million 930 thousand pounds was made. With the campaign, a thousand 187 people declared that they would provide rental support, 600 people would share their homes. The total amount of assistance reached 65 million 971 thousand 833 liras. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will also pay the 3-month electricity and water bills of the earthquake victims who settled in the houses with a Rent a Home campaign in Izmir.
