Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer spoke at the advisory board meeting of Marble Izmir to be held on April 17-20, 2024. Mayor Soyer,who stated that they want to carry the Marble Izmir fair forward by doing better every year, said "We are waiting for the 29th of the fair with great excitement. Our responsibilities are so great.” 
The largest global meeting of the natural stone industry, the 29th Marble Izmir-International Natural Stone and Technologies Fair will be held in 2024 between 17-20 April. Marble Izmir,which has brought the world natural stone industry together in Izmir, previously met at the Historical Coal Gas Factory. The President of the Aegean Mineral Exporters' Association, İbrahim Alimoğlu; the President of the Turkish Miners Association, Ali Emiroğlu; the President of the Turkish Marble, Natural Stone and Machinery Manufacturers Association (TUMMER) Hanifi Şimşek; İZFAŞ General Manager Canan Karaosmanoğlu Alıcı; industry professionals, participant company owners and members of the press  attended the meeting hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer.
Soyer: “We have to achieve better”
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer stated that they have to move the fair forward every year.He said, “You are not only growing your own business, your own bread in your own industry. You are increasing the bread and abundance of Izmir as a whole. That's why you are so valuable. I am very proud to be with you. However; there is a remark ; no success goes unpunished. If so, we have to do better than we did before. If you don't step on the pedal, you will fall off the bike, this is something like that. We have to carry the Marble Izmir Fair forward by doing better every year. We will be waiting for the 29th with great excitement. Our responsibilities are so enormous. As İZFAŞ, we are proud to host the fair. We will do our best to ease the work of the industry, to raise the capacity  for the benefit of Izmir. The sector is one of the strongest and most organized industries. I would like to thank our representatives of the industry.”
“We will conduct a survey”
Mayor Soyer got the opinions of the participants about whether the ceramic industry should participate in the fair or not at the advisory board meeting. The Board members said that the ceramic industry should not be at the fair. Mayor Tunç Soyer also said that they would take the opinions of the participants. Soyer said, “We have the contact information of all participants. We will send the 2-3 question survey to all participants. It's a critical decision, we need to get the opinion of all participants, everyone. We will prepare a survey form and send it to the participants. We will share the result with you. We will ask for your assent for the decision.”
Let's protect the fair
The President of the Turkish Marble, Natural Stone and Machinery Manufacturers Association, Hanifi Şimşek said, “We need to enlarge this fair together. Let's protect our industry.” The President of the Turkish Miners Association, Ali Emiroğlu said, “I would like to state that Marble Izmir is the most significant of the 3 important fairs of the world. It will enlarge even more with the contributions of all of us.” The President of the Aegean Mineral Exporters' Association, İbrahim Alimoğlu said “The fair makes a great contribution to our industry.” İZFAŞ General Manager Canan Karaosmanoğlu Alıcı gave a presentation about Marble Izmir Fair.
