Wenergy – Clean Energy Technologies Fair and Congress, which was held for the first time this year, and We-Cycle Environment and Recycling Technologies Fair, which was held for the second time this year, opened its doors. The Mayor of İzmir Metropolitian Municipality, Soyer said “Change is in our hands. We started the transformation right from this point. We are transforming life together in İzmir”.
We-Cycle Environment and Recycling Technologies Fair, the second of which was hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, and Wenergy – Clean Energy Technologies Fair and Congress, the first of which was held this year,commenced in İzmir. İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer and his wife Neptün Soyer ; the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mehmet Kasapoğlu ; İzmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger; the Aegean Region Chamber of Industry Chairman of the Board, Ender Yorgancılar ; İzmir Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (İZSİAD) Chairman of the Board, Hasan Küçükkurt; İzmir Chamber of Commerce Assembly, President Selami Özpoyraz; district mayors, deputies and parliamentary candidates, the representatives of political party, bureaucrats, industry professionals and foreign buyers participated in the inauguration of the fairs that will last until May 11
Soyer: “We are transforming life together in İzmir”
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer said that İzmir hosts two important fairs. He also said “Today, we are experiencing drought, poverty, climate crisis, endangerment of our food security and disasters at the same time. We are both very unfortunate and very lucky. We are unfortunate because we forgot to have fun, produce, eat and drink as a part of nature. Furthermore ; We have fallen under the illusion that we have the masters of nature and turned life into a dungeon for ourselves. Still, we are very lucky because we know the source of the problem now. The Change is in our hands. We have started the transformation in İzmir right here. We are transforming life together in İzmir.”
“Humans are the only species that generates garbage in nature.”
Mayor Tunç Soyer said that the nature does not produce 'garbage'. “There is no such thing as waste in nature. Humans are the only species that generates garbage in nature…. This tells us clearly that transformation must first commence in our minds, in our thoughts. The human-centered thought, which sees the resources of nature as limited and its own needs unlimited, is now in its final stages. If we want to build the world of the future, we have to clarify the harmony between ecology and economy. Because if there is no nature, there is no life.”
Soyer talked about İzTransformation: “I thank the people of İzmir”
Mayor Tunç Soyer, who describes the İzTransformation project,said “With this work initiated by İzNature,our Climate Change and  Zero Waste Department,we simultaneously achieve the three big goals we dream of for İzmir. Firstly, We protect nature. Secondly, we strengthen the economy of our city. Thirdly, we employ street collectors and offer them healthy working conditions. We separate the wastes in our city at the source, that is, at the '0 point'. Last April,We added Bornova, Bayraklı and Menderes districts to the system after Karşıyaka, Karabağlar, Buca and Narlıdere. In Çeşme, our textile waste is being collected by İzTransformation. We are currently carrying out this process with great care in 8 different districts. I can proudly say that this means one third of the population of İzmir. In this process, we encouraged all İzmir residents to throw their packaging wastes into recycling cans instead of garbage, with the sorting system we established and the efforts to raise public awareness. And the discreet people of İzmir have not left our convocation unanswered, I thank each one of them.
“We host exhibitors from 12 different cities and visitors from 49 countries”
Soyer said that WE-Cycle and WEnergy EXPO fairs emphasize transformation. "Transformation! Right now. These fairs have come to this point as a result of the will and effort of many institutions. These institutions believe that the economy and ecology should grow together. In our fair where nearly twenty product groups participated; In addition to titles such as treatment, waste gas, green energy, recycling technologies, organizations serving the energy sector and non-governmental organizations take part in the fair. Today, participants from 12 different cities from İstanbul to Konya, from Giresun to Tekirdağ are with us. Also, we will host visitors from approximately 49 countries from India to the USA at our fair.
Kasapoğlu: “Wenergy and We-Cycle Fairs are very precious for our country”
The Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Kasapoğlu, said “Clean energy is a field that needs to be enlarged. We all know how precious their technology is and how valuable new projects are for clean energy. We need to propagate the clean energy. So, Both Wenergy and We-Cycle Fairs are very precious for our country. I hope this work will continue for many years. I congratulate to everyone supported.” İzmir Governor,Yavuz Selim Köşger,said “Decreasing the amount of waste released to nature and preventing waste make important contributions to the country's economy. I wish these fairs to be auspicious.
Yorgancılar: “I would like to thank Tunç Soyer for his success in his vision”
The Aegean Region Chamber of Industry, Chairman of the Board Ender Yorgancılar said “It is an issue that we can all overcome as a follower of every product we produce and consume, especially as  family. Another indication of this is that İzmir has achieved the title of pioneer city in the Climate Neutral and Smart Cities mission. I would like to thank our Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer for his vision and success. Only İstanbul and İzmir have been selected in our country. There are 81 provinces. I think it is right for 79 more provinces to work on this issue and to crown this success with their provinces. I see this fair as a fair where our future is exhibited. I would like to thank everyone who contributed the works.”
