Protocol for Agriculture and Employment Incentive

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has signed a protocol for “Turkey and Germany Cooperates for Development of Professional Skills” Project (TAMEB) that is financed by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development in Germany.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will work on two fronts, i.e. agricultural incentives and urban employment, under the Turkey and Germany Cooperates for Development of Professional Skills Project. Regions with higher milk and dairy products quality will be determined in Izmir for this project and the producers in this region shall be trained about production of high-quality milk and dairy products. When the producers complete the training process, businesses will be established to assure sustainable milk and dairy products. Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer and Sequa Turkey’s Representative Aynur Kuytu has signed the related protocol.

According to this Project, men and women who live in Izmir, refugees under temporary protection and Turkish citizens living in Izmir but have no job and profession, all between the ages of 18 and 38, will attend to the vocation courses to be organized by Meslek Fabrikası and they shall be guided by the specialists as well as being a part of the project until employment is provided.

This project of the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) offers a resource worth 14-million Euros to Turkey. According to the protocol undersigned by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, 4-million Euros of this resource will be transferred to the projects in Izmir. The SEQUA team has announced that new grants will be offered if the costs increase during the project period.
