Kim Mihri documentary meets art lovers in İzmir

"Kim Mihri", which won the Best Documentary Film reward at the 59th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival - National Documentary Film Competition, is getting ready to meet art lovers in İzmir. The documentary, which will be screened within the context of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Re-Cinematheque program, will meet with the audience at İzmir Sanat on 21 May, at Seferihisar Cultural Center Çağan Irmak Hall on 24 May.
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality continues to bring art lovers together with reward-winning works with the "Re-Cinematheque" program. Kim Mihri documentary, which has been directed by Berna Gençalp and produced by Berat İlk, Yonca Ertürk and Berna Gençalp, will meet with the art lovers at İzmir Sanat on Sunday, May 21 at 19.00, and at 20.00 on Wednesday, May 24 at İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Seferihisar Cultural Center Çağan Irmak Hall.
Commune with the directors after the show
The audience will meet with the director in the commune, after the screening of "Kim Mihri", which won the Best Documentary Film award at the 59th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival - National Documentary Film Competition. In addition, the director Berna Gençalp will organize the Red Quadrage event on Tuesday, May 23 at 14.00 at İzmir Cinema Office with young filmmakers.
It is about the life of Mihri Rasim, one of Turkey's first female painters
Berna Gençalp is the director of the film, which is about the life and international painting career of Mihri Rasim, one of Turkey's first female painters. She traces Mihri in the cities of Istanbul, Rome, Paris and New York, where the painter spent her life. Thanks to the latest research on Mihri, who was born in Ottoman Istanbul, the rumors that cast a suspicion on the artist's life are replaced by concrete facts.
The Turkish, Old Turkish, English, Italian and French documents unearthed by valuable researchers, a wide range of  art exhibitions from private and corporate collections, photos and newspaper clippings were used in the film. Feride Çetin, a reward-winning actress in mixed-media animation departments, portrays the Painter Mihri. Deniz Türkali and Ece Dizdar also appear as guest actress in the documentary. The documentary produced over many years, was supported by T.R. Ministry of Culture Cinema Support Fund, Antalya Film Forum, US Embassy in Ankara, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, TheAmericanTurkishSocietyMoon&Stars Project, Postbıyık, Filmarka, NicEyeGroup.
