Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is on the European stage in water polo

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which won the titles of U19, U15 and U13 Turkey Champion in women with its youth athletes in front of its giant budget rivals, placed second in U17 women and men and third in U19 men, is running from success to success in water polo. The Great Women's Team, which won the championship for the first time in Izmir history by defeating Galatasaray, received a ticket to participate in the European cups in the women's category. The location of the organization, which will be held in October under the name of Challenge Cup, has not been determined yet. Hamiyet Süzmeçelik, Hanzade Dabbağ, İremnaz Karataş, Zeynep Hepkorucu, Asya Özdemir and Selin Yüksel from the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Water Polo Team, which has a history of only 3 years, will contest in the U17 European Championship to be held in Manisa on 29 July-8 August. They will take part in the Water Polo Women's National Team and will form the main candidates for our crescent-star team. In addition to Turkey, there are 16 other countries in the championship.
"Source of Pride"
The member of the Board of Directors Hüseyin Egeli, has stated that Ceren Bulut, Kübra Kuş, Zeynep Visha, Eylül Arıcı, Selina Çolak, HanzadeDabbağ, Zeynep Erdem and Hamiyet Süzmeçelik wore swimsuits in the National Team A. Also, Lal Uz, Elif Işılak, Mina Bozkurt and Eda Moroğlu also wore swimsuits on the U15 National Team, which ranked 10th in Europe. He said, “Thanks to the vision set by our Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer, we are proud of the achievements of our young athletes against competitors with huge budgets.”
Egeli has emphasized that the team of our A and U17 Women's National teams is composed of athletes from Izmir. "For the first time in Izmir's history, a women's water polo team will contest in Europe. We are happy to be a part of our Mayor Tunç Soyer's aim of making Izmir the center of Europe in water and beach sports. On the other hand, it is a source of pride for us that Evangelos Pateros, Soykan Üstünkar and Cihangir Nergiz, trainers of our branch, take part in our national teams.”
