Izmir Metropolitan Municipality became the first "Metropolitan City" having ISO 27701 standard |
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which is a pioneer in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK), became the first Metropolitan Municipality to receive this title by winning the international ISO 27701 Personal Data Security Standard.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which has ISO 27001 Information Security Standard since 2018, continues to be a leading public institution with the steps it took to comply with the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK), which came into force in 2016. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which is one of the first official institutions to complete KVKK compliance, became the first Metropolitan Municipality to entitle this title by winning the international ISO 27701 Personal Data Security Standard. Metropolitan contributes to many municipalities and official institutions by providing trainings and consultancy on the subject.
International confirmation of data security
The ISO 27701 Standard, as an international management system standard, provides guidance on protecting privacy, including how organizations should manage personal information, and provides the framework for compliance with privacy regulations around the world. Having this standard is internationally accepted as proof that data is effectively protected and managed in the organization.
