The dates of the İzmir International Film and Music Festival, arranged by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality for two years, have been announced. In addition to the national competition, an international competition will also be held this year within the context of the festival,which will be organized between June 16 – 23, 2023.
This year’s İzmir International Film and Music Festival will be held between June 16 – 23 , 2023.  The Mayor of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, Tunç Soyer, said, “As we promised last year, we are taking international competition into our program this year. This competition that focuses on the relationship between music and cinema, will redound İzmir a peerless position among the world festivals.” The feature-length productions with original music from 2022 and 2023 will attend the national competition. Also , The feature-length productions and musicals about the world of music and dance will compete in the international competition.
 The festival, which has been directed by Vecdi Sayar, will be screened in movie theaters , open-air cinemas , and it will be implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the General Directorate of Cinema, the cooperation with İZFAŞ, the partnership with the Intercultural Art Association, the consulates of various countries, the contributions of cultural centers and the sponsorship of private institutions. The screenings of the competitive sections of the festival will be at the İstinye Park Terrace halls, the new art center of İzmir.
The poster of this thematic festival is designed by Nazlı Ongan, and the sculpture of award is designed by Sema Okan Topaç.  At the festival, awards are given in the categories of the Best Film, the Jury’s Special Award, the Best Actor, the Best Original Music , the Best and the most Original Song ,  the Best Sound Design. In addition to the 'Crystal Flamingo' awards, material awards will be given to the winners in these categories. The music of series will also compete
In addition to the two competitions, the festival will also feature an evaluation that highlights the music of the TV series, as in previous years. With the original generic music and the original songs of the serials broadcast on channels and the Original music , the songs of serials broadcast on digital platforms will be commentated in different categories. In the 'Music Short Film Project Competition' held last year, half of the award amount was given to the project owners for the realization of the films. After this date, 10 works whose shooting and post-production processes have been completed will be sent to the same address until April 20 and The Turkish premieres of the films will also be held as part of the festival.
