Esra Akbulak, who placed on the tatami in +73 kg at the 31st World University Summer Games, which started on July 28 in Chengdu, People's Republic of China, beat India's Himanshi Antil 2-0 in the first round, and Poland's Aleksandra Kowalczuk 2-1 in the quarter-finals, making her mark in the last four. The athlete from Izmir, whose hand was broken in the semi-finals, still continued the competition and won the third place by losing 2-1 to Iranian Anahita Tavakoli.
