Appreciation for Pakistan Boulevard |
Tunç Soyer, Mayor of Izmir, hosted Syrus Sajjad Qazi, Ambassador of Pakistan in Ankara, in his office.
Mayor Soyer and Ambassador Sajjad Qazi, then visited 1400 m long street which was turned into a boulevard, located near Konak Food Bazaar. The Ambassador thanked Mayor Soyer by expressing his honour on behalf of his country for Izmir Municipality naming the boulevard as Pakistan.
Ambassador Sajjad Qazi said: “I have seen all the cities in Turkey but Izmir has a different spirit. My wife and I stayed in Izmir previously. We would like to thank you for everything you have done for us. You have also renewed Pakistan Pavilion in Kültürpark. It is just wonderful.”
Mahmut Özgener, President of the Board of Izmir Chamber of Commerce, Selami Özpoyraz, President of the Chamber of Commerce Assembly, Dr. Buğra Gökçe, General Secretary of Izmir Municipality, and Honorary Consul General of Pakistan in Izmir, Cahit Yaşar Eren also participated in the boulevard visit.
