Again , The Wind of German Cinema at the Cinematheque

The four films will meet with cinemagoers from Izmir with the theme of New German Cinema at the “Again -Cinematheque” showings of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in April. The İzmir Metropolitan Municipality will present four films to the city's cinemagoers in April at the "Again -Cinematheque" with the subject of "New German Cinema." The films  "Ali: The Fear Gnaws the Spirit" by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, "The Farewell to the Past" by Alexander Kluge, "All For Himself and God Against All” by Werner Herzog and "The Lead Years" by Margarethe von Trotta ;  will give the audience unforgettable moments. The films will be screened free of charge at Kültürpark İzmir Art and Seferihisar Cultural Center.
“Ali : The Fear Gnaws the Spirit”
The 1974 film "Ali: The Fear Gnaws the Spirit" tells the story of Ali, an immigrant worker who came to Germany from Morocco to work, and his relationship with a German woman 20 years older than him. It was deemed to deserve the FIPRESCI Prize at the 1974 Cannes Film Festival, the Ecumenical Jury Prize, the 1974 German Film Awards "Best Actress-Brigitte Mira" Award, " Best Feature Film" Award at the 1974 Chicago Film Festival, "Brigitte Mira" Award for Best Actress at the 1974 Faro Island Film Festival. The film will meet with the audience on Sunday, April 2 at 19.00 at İzmir Sanat, and on Wednesday, April 12 at 20.00 at Seferihisar Cultural Center.
"The Farewell to the Past"
Alexander Kluge extends an invitation to the German society to an occasion for a kind of internal feud in his first feature film, "Farewell to the Past", which he wrote and directed. The film will be screened at İzmir Sanat on Sunday, April 9 at 19.00. It was deemed to deserve the Honor Award at the 1966 Venice Film Festival the OCIC Award, the Special Jury Award, the Luis Bunuel Award, the New Cinema Award, the Cinema 60 Award,the Italian Cinema Clubs Award. He won the "Best Director, Best Supporting Character " at the 1967 German Film Awards, and the "Special Film Award" at the 1989 German Film Awards.
It criticizes modern society
Werner Herzog's German film "All For Himself and God Against All", which won three awards at the 1975 Cannes Film Festival, tells the story of Kaspar Hauser, who was found by the police on the streets of Nuremberg in 1828, could only write her name, could not speak, and could not use her hands and feet. The film will be screened at İzmir Sanat on Sunday, April 16 at 19.00, and at Seferihisar Cultural Center on Wednesday, April 26 at 20.00.
“ The Lead Years “
The movie "The Lead Years" directed and written by Margarethevon Trotta is about a priest's daughters’ struggle for society’s  women’s rights. The 1981 German-made film will be screened at İzmir Sanat on Sunday, April 30 at 19.00.
