A Cooperation Call from Ghana |
Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu hosted the representatives from the Republic of Ghana that has rich gold mines and oil reserves as well as being one of the world’s leading cacao producers. Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, the Ghanaian Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Salma Frances Mancell-Egala, the Ambassador in Ankara, and Süha Özkan, the Turkish Representative of Ghana Trace Center, were on the visiting delegation.
Izmir Metropolitan Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu thanked the Ghanaian delegation for their visit and their active role in Izmir International Fair over the course of many years and underlined the importance of improving business relationships between these two countries. The Deputy Minister Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah noted that he was visiting Izmir for the first time and that he was highly impressed by the beauty of this city. “It would be perfect if we could copy Izmir and paste it in Ghana. We want to benefit from your knowledge and skills. We would like to use your experiences in Ghana” said the visiting Deputy Minister.
The Ambassador Salma Frances Mancell-Egala reported that they want to build partnerships with Turkish firms and that Izmir is one of the best municipalities of Turkey and added “I always remember you with great affection. You are the magnificent mayor of Izmir”.
