Students, locals and the Venezuelan artist Wolfgang Salazar collaborated for the walls of Ziya Gökalp Secondary School for Islamic Divinity Students located in Yenişehir District of Izmir, Konak.
Students and locals helped the Mural Artist Salazar when coloring the school walls. The last day of this mural activity was celebrated with an entertaining night attended by the locals, artist and his family; the Roman tunes were the highlight of this night.
Wolfgang Salazar, the mural artist from Venezuela, found about this event in Izmir through the “Mural Izmir International Workshop” organized last year by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and he explained that he used the social media to reach out to Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and then came to Izmir. “I want to travel all around the world and draw murals. I want to communicate a message in any country I travel but I mainly hope to reach out to children. I specifically asked the municipal authorities for a school because I wanted to convey a positive message to the students of that school. Venezuela and Turkey are very different from each other but I felt like home. I am very happy to be here and doing this workshop. Thank you all” said Salazar.
