1)Sustainable Urban Future Through Management of Drought and Conserving Wetlands
Budget Line: Town Twinning between Turkey and EU - II (Twinning for a Green Future) Grant Scheme (TTGS-II)
Applicant: Izmir Metropolitan Municipality
Project Purpose: The overall objective of the project is to create common and sustainable ground between Izmir and Ljubljana through improving dialogue, increasing capacity, and exchanging know-how for both cities in terms of coping with drought, drought-related issues and wet-lands.  We plan to reach this overarching goal through five specific objectives and consequent results (a)To enhance adaptation and resilience of Izmir and Ljubljana against the negative effects of drought  (b)To create local, regional and sector based strategies and future projections against drought through using existing data (c) To develop a concrete and sustainable network between two cities in terms of creating Action Plan (d) To promote the importance of Gediz Delta and wet-lands  (e)To increase the knowledge level of farmers, public, students related to effects of drought and wet-lands.

2) Territoires cultivés – (Cultivated Territories)
Budget Line: Delegation for External Action of Regional Authorities (DAECT) of the French Ministry of European and External Relations
Applicant: AVITEM (The Agency for Sustainable Mediterranean Cities and Regions)
Project Purpose: To establish a network of Mediterranean metropolises to make culture a driver of development through projects that combine ecological transformation of the region, urban planning and cultural policies. Within the scope of the project, work will be carried out on 5 Main Themes; 1) Culture connecting the regions from local to Mediterranean, 2) Life at the center of culture, 3) Culture as an act of resilience in the fight against global warming, 4) Culture as a driver of employability and 5) Multi-stakeholder cultural governance as a guarantee of sector resilience.

IMM’s Role: Participating in all activities that will take place within the scope of the project: Participation in round tables in three French cities, preparation of booklets on the five main themes together with AVITEM. In addition, contributing to the first sample studies of the project together with Nice Condé Art School, organizing Izmir Culture Symposium in Izmir, preparing, signing and announcing the joint Mediterranean Cities of Culture and Creativity Manifesto with the contributions of AVITEM.

3)INHERIT- Next Generation Solutions for Sustainable, Inclusive, Resource-efficient and Resilient Cultural Heritage
Budget Line: Horizon Europe (Efficient, sustainable and inclusive energy use)
Applicant: Greece (SINGULARLOGIC ANONYMI ETAIREIA PLIROFORIAKON SYSTIMATON KAI EFARMOGONPLIROFORIKIS)
Project Purpose: The overall objective of INHERIT is to establish a systematic methodology for sustainable, inclusive and efficient cultural heritage solutions, accompanied by leading Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and (big) data analytics and related social/behavioral practices. INHERIT will enable socially innovative and economically viable interventions at different urban levels (buildings, city/neighborhood) and will cover all relevant aspects of the life cycle of the heritage built environment, namely: (1) Design and renovation; (2) Monitoring, operation and management; (3) Protection and maintenance.
Project Partners: The project has 17 partners including the coordinator and 2 associates. Project partners include International Organizations, universities and companies.

IMM’s Role: The innovative solutions and policies to be tested in the project will be tested in 8 cultural heritage sites, and in Izmir, Ahmet Piriştina City Archive Building will be used as a demonstration site. In this context, the public function of the building will be enhanced to make it more attractive, accessible and usable. In addition to the implementation of renewable energy and sustainable solutions, the building will be renovated while preserving its architectural features.

4)Resistant İzmir: Digital City Design and Management System
Budget Line: Izmir Development Agency Public Digital Transformation Financial Support Program (Non-profit Organizations Component)
Applicant: Izmir Metropolitan Municipality
Project Purpose: Increasing the efficient service capacity of our institution by improving the information and communication infrastructure and making natural disasters in Izmir more predictable by making use of the internet of things technologies; collecting and analyzing meteorological data on climate change; With this foresight, it is to contribute to the production of alternative and effective new solutions to urban problems.
Duration: 15 months

5) Cool Noons
Budget Line: European Union Mediterranean Regional Development Program (Interreg EuroMED)
Applicant: AVITEM (The Agency of Sustainable Mediterranean Cities and Regions)
Project Purpose: Testing innovative solutions, including nature-based solutions, in Mediterranean cities; Enhancing the competitiveness of Mediterranean cities by tackling the risks posed by climate change in the urban tourism sector; Engage stakeholders, professionals and citizens to increase the resilience of urban areas to the risks of excessive tourist pressure and improve the quality of life in areas dependent on the tourism sector.
Project Partners: AVITEM, Municipality of Marseille (France), Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal), Bologna Metropolis (İtaly), Imola Faenza Tourism Company (İtaly), Dubrovnik Development Agency (Croatia), Municipality of Budva (Montenegro), REBUS (Albania) and İzmir Metropolitan Municipality (associated)
IMM’s Role: The Municipality will have an end-user, consultant or observer role in the Project. In this context, our Municipality is expected to actively participate in the institutional dialogues to be established.

6) Re-Value (Re-Valuing Urban Quality & Climate Neutrality in European Waterfront Cities) 
Budget Line: Horizon Europe “Urban planning and design for just, sustainable, resilient and climate-neutral cities by 2030”
Applicant: Norwegian University of Science and Technology 
Project Purpose: Contributing to climate-neutral investment for sustainable heritage and tourism management and urban development with more added value and less risk in Izmir Ålesund (Norway), Bruges (Belgium), Burgas (Bulgaria), Rimini (İtaly), Cascais (Portugal), Constanta (Romania), Písek (Czech Republic), Rijeka (Croatia); to prepare detailed roadmaps with investment and partnership models for pilot implementation on the coasts of these cities and to update the long-term Regional Transformation Plans for climate neutrality accordingly.

IMM’s Role: Within the scope of the project, Izmir will expand its holistic design strategy to strengthen citizens' interaction with the sea and coastal areas will be renewed in parts of İzmir determined in accordance with nature and urban aesthetics; will carry out the necessary studies to connect the new city center, which is important for the heritage and tourism of the city, and the ancient settlement of Smyrna; It will strengthen blue-green infrastructures by testing the sponge zone concept to reduce the risk of urban flooding with performance-based digital ecosystem modeling solutions.

7) Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMPİzmir) Project
Budget Line: EU Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance Phase-II (IPA II) Transport Sectoral Operational Program
Applicant: Izmir Metropolitan Municipality
Project Purpose: It is the preparation of the "Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan in Izmir" to meet the mobility needs of people and businesses in İzmir for a better quality of life. A strategic plan will be prepared based on the active participation of citizens and stakeholders, a high level of cooperation between institutions, the integrated development of all modes of transport, and principles such as monitoring and evaluation.

8) CARDIMED (Climate Adaptation and Resilience Demonstrated In the MEDiterranean Region)
Budget Line: Research and Innovation actions in support of the implementation of the Adaptation to Climate Change Mission
Applicant: National Technical University of Athens
Project Purpose: Developing resilience to the effects of climate change in the Mediterranean biogeographic region, Providing support to actors in the nature-based solutions value chain, increasing citizen participation and capacity building through digital infrastructure.
Project Partners: There are 51 project partners in total in the countries of Izdoga, Izmir Institute of Technology, Nature Society, IZSU, Greece, Netherlands, England, Spain, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Portugal, Cyprus, Malta, Croatia.
IMM’s Roles: It will create a model that includes nature-based solutions for the restoration of land and biodiversity and protection from climate change in the Gediz Delta. In this framework, nature-based solutions will be implemented to enrich the biodiversity of river delta wetlands and improve the well-being of local vulnerable communities.

9) PowerManagement
Budget Line: EIT Urban Mobility RIS (Regional Innovation Scheme)
Applicant: Better Renewable Energy Asset Management “PowerHub” (Czech Republic)
Project Purpose: Main objectives of the activity is to test and launch on the market complex solution combining existing software solutions (2 EIT Urban Mobility startups - BiaPower from Spain and Meter Solutions from Hungary) which were awarded as the most promising solution for controlling and management of the charging stations in EIT UM Business Creation Programme - BiaPower focused on forecast and opmization of the electric vehicle charging (to lower costs, ensure green charging and enable clean, reliable electric grids) and Meter solution managing grid part of platform.

10) DIALOGUE4NATURE Project

Project Purpose: Increasing governance in the Mediterranean basin by developing institutional dialogue mechanisms in the region; to find common solutions and implement them at the scale of regions and cities; To ensure that the governance capacities of institutions are developed, especially in the themes of climate change and protection.

11) IPROCURE Security PCP
“Safe societies – protecting the freedom and security of Europe and its citizens” call which is within the context of HORIZON 2020 call for “Pre-trade strategic procurement of innovative, advanced systems to support security”
Lead Applicant: SYNYO GMBH (Austria) (Coordinator)
Project Partners: Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and Association of Emergency Ambulance Physicians from Turkey, Johanniter International (Belgium- An international network of charities), SERMAS (Spain-Madrid Public Health System), JOAFG (Austria- Emergency Care Services Training Centre), HSEPC (Greece- Kar non-profit scientific community for Emergency Care Staff), Niño Jesús University Children's Hospital Research Foundation (Spain), Italian Restitution Council (Italy), European Medical Association (EMA- Belgium), Trinity College (Ireland).
Project Purpose: Aiming to ensure that the R&D studies on paper triage management are digitized and data-oriented, and the triage management prototypes that emerge from these studies are used in the field. A quick and accurate overview of the prototypes to be revealed in the project and the survivors and their situations;
Ensuring the correct allocation of available resources and providing quicker supports for survivors or who get injuried.
Enabling more coordinated work with other first responders or associated teams;
Ensuring studies to reduce transport times between the hospital and the accident site and
Issues which is about quality assurance and studies on educational scales will be discussed.
IMM’s Role: Improving triage scenarios through a flexible triage management system: a) Prompt and accurate review of survivors and their vital condition b) Provision of decision support mechanism to enable better allocation of available resources and establishing faster support for survivors c) Providing more coordinated work with other first responders or associated teams. d) Providing efforts to reduce transport times between the ambulance response place and hospitals and e) Ensuring that studies are carried out to increase quality assurance and prevent accidents. Within the scope of the project, it is expected that the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Brigade Department Search and Rescue (AKS 110) team will test and experience one of the prototypes produced in the project in the field and share these experiences with other partners. It is expected that a modern triage system will be developed from the team using the prototype throughout the project, feedback and requests will be collected to ensure compliance with current conditions and standardization. These feedback and requests will be used to develop a triage system specific to accidents and disasters common in İzmir. In additionally, it will be ensured to participate in workshops and meetings where they can share their good practices with other partners in the project.
 
12) The Maripet Project
Budget Line: Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnerships in Vocational Education and Training 
Applicant: Ege University
Project Purpose: It covers the conversion of waste products in fishing into healthy and nutritious food for cats and dogs.
Project Partners: Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Balıkesir University, institutions and organizations from Portugal, Norway, Croatia
IMM’s Role: Providing support in written, visual and social media in visibility activities; IBB's Fisheries engineers, veterinarians and food engineers participate in 5 training and activity meetings in total to be held in Izmir during the project.
Budget for IMM: € 20.000 (travel, management, personnel fees).

13) ENCHANT (Energy Efficiency Through Behavior Change Transition Strategies)
Budget Line: Horizon 2020 Socio-economic research: non-energy impacts and behavioral insights on energy efficiency interventions
Applicant: Norwegian University of Science and Technology (coordinator)
Project Purpose: The main aim is to design an empirically-informed decision tool for impactful energy efficiency campaign design (users: policymakers, municipalities, NGOs, energy providers). To inform this tool, established behavioral science based (psychology, behavioral economics,) intervention techniques will be tested under controlled conditions in a unprecedented large-scale Randomized Control Trial (RCT) with hundreds of thousands of European citizens.

Project Purpose: Define target lifestyles and scope of action; derive replicable best-practices from relevant case studies; establish a lasting goal-setting network for experience-enhanced lifestyle change; assess the large-scale effects of lifestyle changes on the energy system, economy and climate; supporting cities to start a process towards low-carbon lifestyles; support the EU’s long term strategy for GHG reductions at all levels.
