MAX HAS A FRIEND FROM ITALY |
The number of hippopotamuses in İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Wildlife Park rose to 4 with 2 new hippopotamuses from Italy. They quickly became the center of attention.
The new hippopotamuses brought to be friends with the only hippo “Minik” of the Wildlife Park are already popular with the audiences.
A member of European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), İzmir Wildlife Park received two more hippopotamuses from Italy as friends to “Max”, a 5 year old hippopotamus also donated from Berlin zoo, Germany within the exchange program between zoos, recently. 7 year old “Menelik” from Pistoia Zoo, Italy and 5 year old “Njombe” from Bussolengo Zoo, Italy became the latest additions to the park. With the new addtions the number of hippopotamuses rose to 4.
Our first hippopotamus, Minik, had come from Ramat Gan Zoo, Israel in 2008.
