Ghanaians want to do business with Izmir

The Republic of Ghana, known as the door of West Africa opening to the world, is the one of the leading gold and cocoa producers of the region and wants to cooperate with firms in Izmir.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu hosted delegates of the Republic of Ghana; one of the world’s leading cocoa producers with rich gold mines and oil reservoirs.

Ghana Ambassador in Ankara Salma Frances Mancell-Egala and Ghana-Kumasi Mayor Osei Assibey Antwi and Ankara Embassy’s Commercial Attaché Dr. John Hawkins Asiedu, Africa Trade Center Afrimeks’s CEO Kristina Özkan and Africa Trade Center Afrimeks’s Board Chairman and Ghana Trade Center’s Turkish Representative Süha Özkan were on this delegation.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu thanked the Ghanaian delegation for their visits and active participation of Izmir International Fair for years and highlighted the importance of commercial relations between the two countries.

The Ghana-Kumasi Mayor Osei Assibey Antwi expressed their intention of partnership with the Turkish firms and invited the Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu to Ghana and added; “We believe that we can do outstanding business with Turkey, considering its strategic position, and with Izmir, a city offering a very rich potential”.

The Mayor Kocaoğlu explained that Izmir has successful and dynamic companies and they are ready to support within their means for cultivating this cooperation. The Ambassador Salma Frances Mancell-Egala informed the Mayor Kocaoğlu about her request of concluding a “Good Will Protocol” for cooperation between Ghana and Izmir.
