Metro, which initiated its test service in May, 2000 and began its full time service
in August of the same year, serves on the 11.6 km long line between Ucyol and
Bornova with a total of 10 stations, Ucyol, Konak, Cankaya, Basmane, Hilal, Stadyum,
Halkapinar, Sanayi, Bolge and Bornova, and with its transfer fields with bus and
ship connections at Bornova, Halkapinar, Konak, and Ucyol Stations. Izmir Metro
serves with 5 minute intervals at peak hours and meets needs and expectations
of a safe, fast, and comfortable journey of passengers with its high quality.
