We Hosted Delegation from State of Lower Saxony…
A delegation of investors headed by Joerg Bode, Minister of Economy, Labour and Transportation of the State of Lower Saxony of the Federal Republic of Germany, who have come to Izmir, visited the Metropolitan Municipality of Izmir. The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Sirri Aydogan, Deputy Mayor of Izmir. Stating that he and a delegation of 50 people including the Assembly Group Head of FDP (Free Democrat Party) Christian Duerr, MP Klaus Schneck and top executives of several companies accompanied by the German Consul General in Izmir Stefan Schneider studied the investment opportunities on site, Minister Joerg Bode said that they saw that the Metropolitan Municipality had done many good works in Izmir.
Stating that they came to the city for political and commercial purposes and divided the delegation into two and met with such organisations as ITO (Izmir Chamber of Commerce) and EBSO (Aegean Region Chamber of Industry) and visited the Aegean Free Trade Zone, Bode told that there were so eligible conditions for private investors in the city and that they were very surprised when they saw it and that they wanted to make the culture of Lower Saxony and the Turkish culture come together.
Stating that Lower Saxony resembles Izmir for its agriculture and industries, Dr. Aydogan told that they were very pleased to entertain the German delegation in Izmir. Aydogan presented a model of the clock tower which is the symbol of Izmir to Bode while Bode presented two porcelain coffee sets to Aydogan. |
