Invitation for Izmir from European Regional Assembly |
Dr.Hande Bozatlı, Turkish citizen president of European Regional Assembly (AER) visited Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu. Bozatlı is selected once again in December, as president of European Regional Assembly which was founded in 1985 and gathered together 15 interregional, 230 regional organizations from 35 countries; invited Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to the membership of AER.
Dr.Bozatlı is the first president who is selected to European Regional Assembly excluding EU countries, stated that AER is the most efficient regional management agency and added that they made strategical works and their fundamental target is to give support to the regionalism in the region. Hande Bozatlı added that the representation of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will make a big contribution to lobbying works in Europe.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu stated that he is very pleased for European Regional Assembly President’s visit and the invitation and congratulated Bozatlı for her success. Mayor Kocaoğlu pointed out that they will take place in European Regional Assembly as Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and will make membership application as earliest as possible.
